The virtual YouTuber scene is booming, with major companies creating their own digital characters and hosts. Now, it looks like existing anime characters are on board as well — with cat-eared (er, headbanded) Yuto Ito of 3D Kanojo: Real Girl being one of the first.
His inaugural video went up today, clocking in at just over a minute long. He’s aiming for 1 million subscribers — at the time of this writing, he’s hit 1,800, so he’s on his way.
And yes, that is indeed Shouta Aoi back in the role of Yuto.
“Yuto’s Room,” as the channel is called, links back to the official 3D Kanojo: Real Girl website, and doesn’t bear much information in its About section save for broadcast and streaming info for the show. Could this be the beginning of a new trend, bringing characters in recent anime to our YouTube subscriptions?
It’ll be interesting to see how Yuto’s channel fares, so smash that Subscribe button.
